Land Seismic Processing Course – 3 days

12 – 14 March 2024

This 3-day course provides a brief theoretical background in geophysics, reinforced with some practical processing experience using GLOBEClaritas™ software. We will take an example 2D line from field data to the final imaged section with GLOBEClaritas.

Aimed at current or new GLOBEClaritas users.

The course is designed to give attendees practical experience in key aspects of processing land seismic data. The content includes:

  • Land Processing fundamentals :-Geometry, Statics, & Velocity analysis
  • New tools for First Break picking and QC, statics QC, 3D Tomostatics etc.
  • Header manipulation and display in Claritas.
  • Imaging solutions – PreSTM/PreSTM etc

The datasets are exploration seismic lines from Taranaki, New Zealand, and will be used in conjunction with supplied workflows and support data.

Recommended Background
This course requires no previous seismic processing or geophysics knowledge.

Who should attend this course?
Individuals who work with processed seismic data or would like to gain a better understanding of land processing methodology.

What will I take away from this course?
A greater understanding of how seismic images are created, and the implications this has on interpretation decisions, and an improved knowledge of key aspects of a typical land processing flow, including the importance of Geometry and the interplay between statics and velocities.

Is there a discounted rate for Academics and Students?
Yes, we do. Reduced rates for academics and students are EUR €375 per person

Can the GLOBEClaritas team provide a letter of invitation for the course if I need one?
Yes, we can. Just contact us and we will provide a suitable letter.

Date:  12 – 14 March 2024
Location:  Geological Survey of Sweden, Uppsala, Sweden
Cost:  USD $2500 per person
